It’s another beautiful day here in northwestern Massachusetts: sunny, warm; yesterday’s low temperature was the usual average high temperature for that date. It’s "unseasonably" pleasant. But seasons change; they will change. And, not to be too pessimistic about it, I wanted to send out a quote from Confucius, one that might lift the spirits of someone, anyone, who is experiencing some difficulty at this moment:
The Master said: "Only after the seasons turn cold can we truly know the resolve of pine and cypress." (9.28)
It’s in adversity that we find our true selves.
