We are happily in Oxford, after a great day in London. But getting here was quite the adventure. We were stopped in our tracks at the airport in Hartford CN by a wicked thunder storm. The original plan was to fly out of there to Philadelphia and then onward to London. This was the cheap ticket. By going this route, I was saving significant money. But, no, it was not to be. The storm caused our flight to be cancelled. We thus scrambled, helped by a friendly airport person, rebooked the flight for the next morning out of Boston. This required a rental car and a drive, through the terrible thunderstorm, up to Logan airport. We spent the night there, awoke very early the next morning and flew off to London.
Moral of the story: the best laid plans are fragile and contingent. At any moment thunder can strike – literally in this case – changing everything. That is how Way works: it moves as it will, without regard for our desires and expectations. And when it does shift its course, don't worry about holding on to the cheap ticket…. Cheerio…

Let there be a country so close, the people hear the dogs bark and the roosters crow, yet never bother themselves to visit.
That’s the phrase I always remember when I’m traveling and it’s not going so well.LikeLike

Hi Sam–
I live a few miles away from the airport you’re talking about. We’ve been getting hardcore thunderstorms almost every day for a little while now. The Way has definitely sticking it to us recently–like the sage, the weather’s seeing us as straw dogs.LikeLike
