Is it just me, or is it not clear why scantily clad
ladies prancing about in banana skirts somehow contribute to the claim
the Taiwan is a part of China? Here is the caption for the picture
below from the China Daily:

gathering in Beijing in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the
recovery of Taiwan from Japanese colonial rule. Historical facts
"indisputably" prove that Taiwan is an inalienable part of Chinese

And, no, there is no ancient Chinese philosophy
angle here (I can find no references to banana skirts in any of the
great books). I just couldn’t resist.
